Just wanted to share how much God is still working through the stories and words Barbara has shared with us. If that is not the grace of God and the Holy Spirit moving, I just don't know what is. See you when we get home Barbara ... keep the flowers fresh and the light on

I found Barbara's book "The Best of Barbara Johnson" and it is so good to know that there are other mom's who are also Christians who go through this roller coaster. We found out in January our 20 year old son is gay. He's living with us as he attends tech school, and we are getting along fairly well. The problem is we are quite certain he is bipolar because of his other behaviors, and it runs in the family as well as suicides and attempted suicides. The psychiatrist he went to decided he was a "perfectly fine young man" and won't look into the bipolar possibility as he thinks it's us who need to be straightened out. He was probably told how my husband and I were involved with the pro-marriage campaign for a number of years in our state.
We're basically doing just what Barbara recommended and just love him and let God work, but I am concerned that eventually he will hit a real low because of the bipolar and I worry about that.

I was just thinking about Barbara as I sat down at my computer, so did a search. So sad to hear she has died, but I know she is with her precious Lord. I have read most of her books after reading Put a Geranium in your Hat, which helped me through a bad time in my life. I have lent, given and recommended her books to many of my friends.
May God bless you all who carry on her work for the Lord through the Foundation.

Never even heard of Barbara Johnson till I followed a link on YouTube. I ended up watching every video on YouTube I could find, then went to this site hungry for more. Literally, not figuratively, I LAUGHED OUT LOUD.

Wish my parents could listen to her on the subject of homosexuality.

On March 20, 2010 my husband and I lost one of our precious identical twin great granddaughters. Her name is Mariah Nevaeh Case. (Nevaeh is heaven spelled backwards) She and her sister Marley, had just turned 6 months old and had traveled with their Mom and other family members from Texas to Missouri for a visit. One night Mariah was put on a bed to sleep and somehow fell into a spot between the bed and her sisters playpen and she suffocated. We are devastated. I have always loved Barbara Johnsons books and have come back to read them again as my family tries to find our way through this horrible pain. If anybody can inspire us to go on it will be Barbara. She lives on!

I just looked up your page today after reading Fresh elastic... What a wonderful book! It has helped me a lot, although my children are not homosexual. The way they treat me, I almost wish it was as simple as that, but thankful at the same time they are not. My boy's are 16, 18, and 19. They are disrespectful and think everything should be handed to them on a silver platter... I am worn out, and last Sat I had stents put in my heart from all this stress. I am so tired! I am very sorry to hear of your mothers passing. I have only read one of her books, and it helped me so much. She had a way with words, and they really helped... I know she is in the perfect place now with our Lord. Good bless all of you. And again, I am sorry to hear of your loss.

Please pray for my husband and I. Just been informed by our son of 26 years old that he is homosexual. God is helping us. Don't know what to do or say next. Thanks for your prayers. Debbie

I read your Mother's books before I even knew I would need them. Our son is gay and I have found I need your Mother's words many times.
We love our son and hope and pray that God will guide him while he seems distant from us.
I send a hug to Barbara for her words of wisdom from the heart.
