Hello!
Well, I really do not have children and do not speak English, so sorry if you do not understand what I mean. I'm 19 years old, I'm from Tijuana (Mexico), and although thank God I have not gone through the same experiences as your mother, but her books have been helpful for me, I'll say is a girl of my age can have problems ... I don't want to tell my my story, I just want you to know that I am very grateful to God for the life of your mother and your whole family ...... Brenda Cairo.

My mom had all of Barbara's books, and she read them over and over--they were never absent from my mom’s hands. 15 days ago, after fighting 2 years against cancer, my mom went on to be with God.
Barbara’s books gave my mom the force to not give up and to continue her. Despite all the bad things that happened in our lives she never stopped smiling, and I will remember that always.
I know that you are in the God's presence… Thank you Barbara for giving to my mother the opportunity to love her life with all her heart.

I had a feeling that Barb had passed. I fell in love with her and her kooky antics at the Women of Faith Conferences. I saw her 4 times in the ninety's. When I went last time in 2006 she wasn't there and I had a feeling something was wrong. I just went again this past weekend in Ft. Lauderdale and there were many new faces and I missed Barb, so that's why I googled her to find this website and that she passed. Well, I'm jealous! She is jumpin and dancing and playin with Jesus. I bet she's having a wonderful time! But I miss her so much. I have her book "The Best Of..." and I have her short stories in "We Brake For Joy" and "Contagious Joy". I love her and miss her very much!

I have lupus. I was having a down moment, and decided I needed Barbara. I hadn't read her books in a while. I look up this website on the Internet and discovered she is gone. She had so much left to give, I simply don't understand it. I am crushed. I suppose I can take comfort in re-reading the books I have. I feel like a safety net is gone. This is so sad.

I am reading Just Stick a Geranium in Your Hat and Be Happy! for the second time. It means even more to me now that I am older. I was whining and complaining the other day and my husband, oh so seriously, said, "Remember?...just stick a geranium in your butt and be happy!" I yelled, "It's hat, hat!!!...not butt" But laughter overcame us both and has continued for a week. Barbara would have loved that!!! I am grateful for her wisdom and the fact that she took the time to share it with us! May God Bless You!!!

I am a twenty year old college student who has had VERY FEW "crisis'" so far in life. I work at a Christian bookstore and came across Barbara's books one day. I began taking them home a few at a time and fell completely in love with her joy and her humor in all that the Lord has helped her face. She inspires me to have such joy each day, because in the end, we will all be okay! Her precious books have meant so much to me and I view her as such a role model! I recently met a women who had just found out that her son was gay. She had fell HARD into depression, and needed badly to be scraped off the ceiling with a Spatula. I went by her house and took her a few of Barbara's books, I haven't yet heard from her, but I'm sure the Lord is using the books for her healing process!!

I'm going through a time of multiple trials right now. I found The Joyous Writings of Barbara Johnson in the nick of time. Thanks, Barb! See you in heaven!

Your mother inspired me. I re-read her writings as they speak of hope. I hope her ministries continue on - they are so valuable.
