I just love Barbara's books!
No matter what mood I'm in they cheer me up. I will always find myself laughing when I'm at lunch at work reading her stories! Just when I need a pick-me up, she always comes thru. God bless you and all your endevours! She's having a blast up in heaven!

Your mother was and is truly an inspiration to me and many I know. Just a few weeks ago, a member of our Ladies' Bible Class spoke on "Getting Through The Tough Times" and used your mother to recommend her writings for the joy and laughter she provided many of us who are hurting. I read and reread her "New Elastic for Stretched Out Moms" to get me through depressing times. I pray you will be able to continue her legacy. Her strength will continue to be truly remembered for generations to come. In the name of the one who suffered shame and pain for the salvation of the world, Jesus Christ, I pray for your continued work in your wonderful Mother's name.
Sincerely, Bonnie

And her trademark giggle from the corners of her beautiful, always smiling mouth would just appear. The glint in her eye met mine and I think she knew we were kindred spirits. Not until many years later and more recently. (I am now approaching 59, which makes me just ten years older than Barb was when we first met) I am realising the impact that Barbara's example, more even than words, have had on me. I am reading her devotional which I ordered recently. How wonderful to read her words again! They were her constant words. Repeated over and over in my ears during lunch, staying over at her and Bill's place during the birth of our two eldest sons. Standing side by side in church with her famous “thank you for not singing” card tucked in her bag where no one else knew it existed! Everywhere, she was a long play album of joy and contagious perseverance. What a divine privilege to have known this possible "angel unawares" type person.

To all who share the joy of this woman's legacy, just know, that the joy of Him is in her words. What you get from her words, it sticks, germinates and, sooner or later, it blooms. And if you're like me... and sorta like Barb would have called herself... you might be fortunate enough to become a happy, joyful, contagious, "blooming reproduction"!!!

It would be just 33 years ago this year that Barbara and Bill and I first met. Was only thinking what an impact she made on a 26 year old "new" to ministry of helping others with the same help that I had been helped. These were to turn out being the "early days" of Spatula Ministries. I remember her telling me of her idea to have a ministry to help mums and he thought that this theme was perfect as she smiled and motioned to the ceiling and said... "Michael, sometimes we All need to be pealed from the ceiling!"

I was in Bed grieving to death over my 18 yr old getting aids, and my daughter handed me the Geranium book which brought me out of my death bed n by the way 15 yrs later shes doing fine an I met barb at a CWR in Orlando, Florida. I said to her "You saved my life!" She said, "Let me save it again," and she put a pack of her tapes in my hand and I also had my picture taken with her. She was God in human form in a way truly God used Barbara.
She will be missed. I loved her and every word she wrote. She changed my life

I'm reading Barbara's book "I'm So Glad You Told Me' It's a real blessing. For the first time in months. I'm laughing loudly and 'longly' It's a breeze that is helping me to put my Mom's passing into perspective.
May God continue to bless you as you continue your labour of love in honour of your Mom.

I have been a fan of Barbara's since I read her first book; "Daily Splashes of Joy". {I have most of her books now.} She was a remarkable lady who suffered many heartaches, but her faith in God and her great sense of humor, was awesome. I learned a lot from her, and tho, I never met her--I cared about her. I have lupus, and a brain tumor, and from her I learned to be strong, not to give up, and to see the joy in everything. I also have a son who is gay, so I understood her pain. My son & I have a great relationship... I accept and love him for who he is. I didn't know until a few days ago that Barbara had passed away. Heaven must be a more joyful place now that she is there. She was truly a angel on earth as she has blessed my life, and countless others whose lives she touched. May God Bless Her Family, and May Her Legacy Live On.

Hi! I recently read "Hope" by Billy Graham and he told of Barbara's ministry and how she lost two of her sons and one that was gay. My only son recently told me he was gay. He is 16 years old. I have a knife in my heart. He professes not to believe in God; however, he has been baptized and has gone to a Christian school all of his life. My greatest fear is that he will not know the unconditional love that Jesus has for him and his salvation. I am trying to communicate with him; however, he is very rebellious. I recently purchased 2 books of Barbara's that I know will be of great comfort and guidance as our life unfolds. I am thankful that God has lead me to this site and made me aware of Barbara's works.
