Antonio, thank you for your kind words. Thousands have responded just as you over hearing of my mother's passing. How happy it would make her to know that people are still being encouraged by what she has left us as her legacy of laughter! These are tough times. Go out and see the other books my mother has written. Check out our bookstore. And buy a few books for the holidays for those you know who could use the Encouragement. You'll be surprised what happens when you do! Please keep in touch and I hope you've signed up for our newsletter! And seen her free Video Clips on line at YouTube.com or GodTube.com. She may not be physically here, but she's still encouraging us to hang in there and find that "Bubble of Joy" way deep down inside and share the Joy of the Lord! Joyfully, David

I have read many of Barbara's books and felt that I knew her personally through them. I was deeply sadden to hear that Barbara has passed away. She was a blessing to many. I have suffered depression for many years and have often considered suicide, but reading Barbara's book "Splashes of Joy in the Cesspool of Life" when I was at one of my lowest points in life gave me encouragement. I still suffer with depression and sometimes still feel that life is just too much to bear and crave for the peace of non-existence. I know this is not the Christian way to go but I believe God knows that some of us just can't cope with the pressures of life. May our Lord God bless your family abundantly in the years to come.

Although holidays can be very difficult after the loss of a loved one, this Thanksgiving.....I praise God for using Barbara Johnson as a beacon in dark times. I am so very thankful for the legacy she has left and her unending encouragement she continues to convey through her books. May God Bless you David...and the entire Staff. I had no idea until today that Barbara was gone. Thought I would see if she had a site and some inspiration on line.
She helped me at a time that I didn't know I would need it. At the time that I got her book called "I'm So Glad You Told Me What I Didn't Want To Hear", my kids were young. A few years ago I found out my son was gay. If it hadn't been for Barbara, I don't think I would have reacted as well.
I wish I had had a chance to know her. Thank you and thank you for continuing. God bless.
I will be praying for you.

I have been dealing with depression and had been reading my Bible and a portion of a verse I read said God will send help from Heaven to help me. I came across the book Stick a Geranium in Your Hat and Be Happy and it has helped me so much. I realize that Barbara is the help God sent to me from Heaven.

I first heard of Barbara in 2001. At the time, I had been homeless for about 5 months and was in a homeless shelter, which was and still Christ-based. When I saw one of her videos, I laughed so hard I thought tears would start rolling down my face. The stories of her sons passing were so sad. The story of her one son dying during the Vietnam war made me think of my favorite uncle. He is still alive, but in prison here in California. Praise the Lord, though, he became a believer about 5 years ago. I had been praying for him for at least 20 years before that.
Thank you so much, Barbara, for sharing yourself and your family with us, the world.

Thank you, David, for continuing your mom and your dad's ministry. My mom, grandma, and I have been a fan of your mom's for years. You have no idea just how much her books have encouraged me. I have cried many happy and sad tears. I thank Jesus that she let Him shine so brightly through her. Thank you for carrying that light on...

Hi, I'm not a mother but the books written by your mother have been a blessing in my life and given me a few laughs and encouragement when I needed it. May your ministry grow and with prayer may ministries in South Africa start up and flourish.

I had only read one or two books from Barbara several years ago. I have the book "The Best of Barbara Johnson." I have had it for several years on the shelf and I wanted to get to it soon so I could finally read it. This mornng I read some of it on the bus on my way to work. I was so really encouraged by what I read. When I got to work one of the first things I did was look up Spatula ministries. It was then I learned she had passed away. My heart felt a hurt inside as I shed a tear over someone I barely knew. But I knew it hurt to know she was gone from us. Yet, my thought was that her stay on earth was really a visit from Jesus's spirit manifested in Barbara. I am encouraged to try to let this Jesus shine through my life as He did through Barbara. Thank you Father in heaven for Barbara Johnson.

When I first got to meet Barbara, I had just buried my youngest son a couple of months before. I got to meet her at a Women of Faith Conference and purchased a lot of her books. Now that my oldest son has been gone from home since August of 2004 and is living the gay lifestyle, I cherish her books more and more.

I remember hearing Barbara do her first talk show with Dr. Dobson when I worked at Focus On The Family. It seemed so long ago. I just recently met David and it brought me back to that moment on the radio. This time I saw the "face" of Barbara standing before me and his heart is as big as his Mom's. Supporting this ministry now is just as important as the day I was introduced to Barbara. I look forward to what God has planned for him since he was the catalyst behind her ministry!
