Why this ministry must continue
This ministry is critical for every parent who will ever lay head in hands, weep bitterly, and wonder earnestly, "What shall I do?" I have been that parent, and derived much encouragement from Barbara's work, even after her passing. May God raise up leaders and volunteers who are willing to hold the hand of the weary and offer "a cup of cold water in Jesus' name". God Bless you, David Kellie Alexander Lees Summit, MO

Just a wonderful author and witness
I love everyone of Barbara's books (have read several more than once) and the quotes and poems and personal perspective she exemplified in them helped me during some very difficult times. Plus her sense of humor and fortitude were so admirable. Her death is Heaven's gain, but such a loss to those of us left behind... Her life was a blessing to so very many and surely she is at the feet of our Father and oh how He must be exclaiming: "Well done thy good and faithful servant!"

Looking Ahead
Amazingly enough, I just found out about your mom's passing. I send belated condolences to you and when you are missing her the most, go to the Bible and read 1 Thess. 4:13-18. It will comfort your soul. I have read your mother's books since 2000 and they have helped me so much in the trials that I faced as a teacher. No, I didn't face the same things she did, but many times I felt like not only was the light at the end of the tunnel a train, but that it had run over me as well. Barbara got me through those times and I often pass her words of advice or humor on to others who have been run over by that same train. I never met you mother, but at the resurrection and homegoing of all the saints, I plan to look her up. I want to see her leap those pearly gates. I'm sure Jesus himself will join her in great glee. That will be a sight! I'm sure that her crown will contain not only stars and jewels, but also geranium flowers encrusted with jewels. I do believe that we will all know her just by her crown. I want to thank her for the work she did here on earth for Jesus. Many times, she was that drink of water offered to a stranger in Jesus' place and I thank God for having known of her and her way of praising Him through all the good and bad times.

I felt like I knew Barbara personally
What a shock to, just now as I visited her website, to learn of her going to be with the Lord. I have not had internet service for quite some time and I have been grieving for my own precious mom for the last 8 months, so I'm just now pulling myself together to get back on with my life. I will miss her. I've read all her books and was helped so very much by her christian advise, insight and humor. I'm crying as I write this. She was one of God's blessings to me to have known her through her writing.

I thank my God upon every rememberance of you...
Today is the first I've heard of Mrs. Johnson's passing. She will be one more person I'll have to look forward to meeting in heaven! I began reading Boomerang Joy before I joined the Air Force in 2001, and her words encouraged me to let my light shine. The story that stays with me the most is "Nestle, Don't Wrestle" from BJ, and as a matter of fact, it brought me to this sight today...I will read that story again, and remember to be content in all situations. God Bless

Laughter from Heaven
I have loved reading Barbara Johnson books since the first one I read Stick a Geranium in your Hat and be Happy. I was given it as a gift ten years ago when I was going thruogh a very bad year with my health. I have Fibromyalgia and It took doctors a year of tests after tests to tell me what it was! Since I was told ten years ago I have lost my hearing in one ear. I have had stomach and bladder problems. This month I was told I have a heart problem. Her books have helped me through some very bad times in my life. I have learned laughter is the best medicine as she did. I just was given the book Laughter from Heaven as a Birthday gift. It was reading that book that I found out she had a brain tumer and later found out about her and her husbands death. She will be missed!!!! She was a wonderful one and her books and her life have kept me going!!

What a change in my life!
I remember reading one of Mrs. Johnsons books when I was 23 and newly married. She brought such laughter into my life, to which I was able to share the wonderful things she talked about with my husband who also got a great laugh! During one of the hard times in ministry, just reading her stories gave me such strength to handle situations that ordinarily would be extremely difficult. I praise God for her, and her life! What a minister of God!!!!

My husband and I just wached DVD 1
Again we expierenced the hurt, pain, and joy of listening to Barbs Story ..Thank you so much for sending it ... she will forever be an encouragment for us as we too wait for the Holy Spirit to do the work in our Son, Steve's life and we too learn day by day to be changed people ..I just read their are three components involved in any relationship you have with another person ..Myself, the other person and the relationship between the two .. About myself be humble ,,toward the other person ,be loving ..toward the relationship that exists between the two of us ,Be patient...Humility, love and patience ..Wait.Never stop waiting ..Have no agenda ..Let God's will, in God's time, shape the relationship between me and the other person

GOD bless Barbara
I can't believe I didn't know until today that Barbara had gone to Glory! How could I have missed it? Her words of joy and confort have meant such an awful lot to me over the years; especially the last year or two, as I deal with my sick and aging parents and all that comes with that, as well as a disobedient and troubled son. Barbara is my role model and I am so thankful for her life. I know she is at peace and truly joyful today as she worships at our Lord's feet.

Splashes of Joy
A friend bought me the book "Splashes of Joy in the Cesspools of Life" when I had Post Natal Depression and it was a breath of fresh air! I never knew Barbara but I felt as if she knew what people were going through! Now she is enjoying Tidal Waves of Joy in the Glories of Heaven! I thank the Lord for leading her in her life and I pray that He will continue to bless this ministry! My deepest condolences to the whole family - you have lost a woman whose worth is definitely far above rubies (Proverbs 31:10-31)!

THANK You Barbara!
I am so shocked to read that Barbara Johnson left this world to be with her two boys already 9 months ago. Just today I got a book I ordered from America, not knowing that she already passed away. I am so thankful and grateful for having her books in which she really encouraged me to live my daily life. THANK YOU Barbara. God bless her family and those who were close to her.

You Picked Me Up!
It is now 2008, I am 51 years of age, with a husband of 49 years in high security prison in Australia. I've been in some deep pits over the past six years and bought "Stick a Geranium in Your Hat and Be Happy!" because a christian friend told me about this book. As I am finding it extremely difficult with my husband in prison and feel my life does not have a purpose any more, I have often thought of a quick and easy way out of this world, but just don't have the guts to do it. Instead I bought "Stick a Geranium in Your Hat and Be Happy" and it bought hope, laughter and determination into my life; even my husband who is in prison still to this day; he asked his chaplain to supply him with this book too, because he wants to be happy and know that God loves him too.

Former Support Group Member!
Dear David and Dean, My deepest sympathies to you and your family at the passing of your dear, sweet Mother. Barbara Johnson was one of the greatest women who ever lived, as far as I am concerned. Anyone who attended one of her support groups feels the same way. Only God knows what she has meant to the millions of parents of gay children that crossed her path. I attended her support group at the Crystal Cathedral while I lived in California because I used to live in the gay life many years ago. Those meetings meant so much to me. She did monumental work for the Lord in this area. I am humbled to have known Barbara and to have worked with her at some of her conferences. What a blessing she was and will continue to be. The world just doesn't realize what it has lost! But Heaven is certainly a brighter place today because she is there.

She made time for my broken heart!
In the year 2000, my teenage daughter was killed in a snowmobile accident on a church outing. Even before the accident, I had been a fan of Barbara's writing, but her books helped me live through the worst event of my life. At a Women of Faith Conference in Denver that year, I snuck out before intermission to find her at her book table. I only wanted to thank her for her writings, and to tell her how much she had helped me. As I walked up to the table, I heard her telling her assistants how badly she had to pee! and that she was on her way to the restroom. I introduced myself, and got three words out:"My daughter died.." before I completely lost my composure. She dropped everything to ask me all about Catherine and the accident. Then she loaded my arms up with books, tapes, and a calendar. I told her that wasn't necessary, but she wouldn't hear of it. Then she said, "I'm sorry, but you'll have to excuse me..I really need to pee!" God bless Barbara! I can't wait to see her again in heaven!
